  • Buying local will help sustain the charm and character of St. Mary's County
  • By purchasing products locally you are buying from your neighbors
  • To begin the process of creating a sustainable community

What can I do to Help?
• Get educated on what local independent businesses are in your community
• Spread the word to neighbors and co-workers
• Talk to local business owners and learn why this movement is important
• Start by changing your habits and shift 10% of your purchases to a local business
• Ask yourself the following questions before making a purchase:
⁃ Is the business I am purchasing a product from a local independent business?
⁃ Is the person/business I am buying from concerned about our community?
⁃ What percentage of my purchase will stay in SMC?
